UMF kicks off the 2017 summer Caribbean festival season in Houston with its annual cooler fête. Billed as the largest concert of its style, this year the festival features soca, reggae, and chutney music.

2 Day Independence Celebration

Join the city of Baytown in celebrating the nation’s birthday! Festivities kick off on Monday at Bicentennial Park with performances by Mambo Jazz Kings, Grand Funk Railroad, and Josh Turner. Fireworks and a parade make this an event you won’t want to miss!

Freedom over Texas

Celebrating 30 years of July 4th music, fireworks and fanfare on Buffalo Bayou, Houston’s signature patriotic event – CITGO Freedom Over Texas – will turn it WAY up with live performances, family activities and stunning pyrotechnics Tuesday, July 4th from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. For the first time in the event’s history, the celebration will kick off with a patriotic tribute by United States Air Force Band of the West. Grammy-nominated and CMA-winning artist, HUNTER HAYES will follow before multi-platinum selling, 2016 MTV Video Music Award-winning DNCE takes the stage.As is tradition, the evening will conclude with a spectacular blast of fireworks thanks to CITGO who has provided the finale since 2015. This year, CITGO signed on as a dual sponsor providing both the pyrotechnics and titling the event for the next three years.

First Saturday Arts Market

First Saturday Arts Market is open evenings 6 – 10 p.m.
June 3 and July 1, on August 5 the market takes part in White Linen Night in the Heights and sets up shop on the 200 & 300 block of W. 19th St. Watch this website for those details.

Vegfest Houston
When: July 17th, 2017
Where: Rice Village

This amazing, diverse, all-vegan community event is held right here in the nation’s 4th largest city. It’s no wonder, since Houston is ranked the 4th “Most Veg-friendly City” in the nation as of 2012, making us the top Texas Veg-friendly city! This festival is produced entirely by volunteers from our nonprofit organization. Our popular event features vegan vendors and exhibitors, family-friendly kids activities, giveaways and more. VegFest Houston promotes an ethical, compassionate and truly sustainable world for all. Ours is one of the most diverse vegan festivals in the nation!!!

Fajita Festival

The Houston Fajita Festival 2017 is a celebration of Mexican culture, food, drinks, and entertainment.
