And chances are, if you’re looking for a high quality custom home, the cheapest price won’t get you there. There are many factors that go into choosing a competent builder, including price. But, it’s important to also search for a builder who is experienced, earns your trust, and willing to work with you on a realistic budget.
3. Not Making Major Selections on Time
Not choosing your selections on time (or before the start of your build) can be detrimental. It may end up costing you more time and money than you realize. Be sure to make all major selections on time- ideally, before your project breaks ground.
4. Not Understanding How Change Orders Work
Change orders are a part oft he building process and it’s important to know exactly how your builder handles them. Before you sign the dotted line, discuss the change order process with your builder. This can prevent a lot of heart ache and frustration down the road.
