Star Spangled Salute with the Houston Symphony
Sunday, July 3rd | 8pm
The Cynthia Woods Woodland Pavilion
Celebrate America’s birthday with the star spangled salute this Independence Day. Doors open at 6:30 for this annual event.

Freedom Over Texas with Darius Rucker

Monday, July 4th | 4pm – 8pm

Fireworks will ignite the sky, and country tunes will set the stage for Houston’s signature annual patriotic celebration, US Family Health Plan Freedom Over Texas from 4 p.m. – 10 p.m. on Monday, July 4 at the newly renovated Eleanor Tinsley Park on Buffalo Bayou (along Allen Parkway).

Darius Rucker, formerly front man of Hootie and the Blowfish, will headline the main stage. Rucker is a GRAMMY® Award winner and a 2009 CMA New Artist of the Year Award winner. Joining him will be Houston’s own up and coming group, The Suffers, showcasing their signature fusion of rock and ‘Gulf Coast Soul’. The evening will culminate with a spectacular fireworks display, choreographed to music, by CITGO.

4th of July Celebration at Bayou Bend

Monday, July 4th | Noon – 5pm

Celebrate Independence Day at Houston’s home for American decorative arts and paintings. The annual 4th of July festival at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens offers up an extravaganza of Americana: performers, crafts, activities, refreshments, and more. Don’t forget to sign the giant Declaration of Independence before you leave! With its unique blend of the arts and American history, Bayou Bend is the perfect place to celebrate American freedom in style.

A reading of the Declaration of Independence, followed by birthday cake, starts at about 3:20 p.m. on the Diana Terrace (north side) of the house.

Rain or shine! Admission is free.

July 4th Fireworks Spectacular

The July 4 weekend welcomes four nights of free concerts to CITYCENTRE plus an Independence Day fireworks spectacular that you don’t want to miss!

Red Hot & Blue Festival
4th of July in Town Green Park and along the Woodlands Waterwary from 6pm – 8pm
Celebrate freedom in The Woodlands at the 2016 19th Annual Red, Hot and Blue Festival with vendor booths, great food, children’s activities and entertainment on multiple stages at Town Green Park and Waterway Square from 6 to 10 p.m. This community-wide celebration offers fun for all ages. The event culminates with one of the largest fireworks displays in the Greater Houston area with the 20+ minute Fireworks Extravaganza over The Woodlands Town Center. Sponsored by CHI St. Luke’s Health – The Woodlands Hospital, The Woodlands Development Company, Wells Fargo and HEB.

Katy Freedom Celebration
Monday, July 4th | 9am – 1pm

The Katy Freedom Celebration begins at 9 a.m. at the City facilities on George Bush Drive and ends at 1:00 p.m.  There will be an Opening Ceremony by VFW Post 9182, an Open House at the City of Katy Fire Station, and the Katy Heritage Museum, attractions and events will be available for kids and families at VFW Park.  Later in the evening, the annual fireworks display will be held near Katy Mills Mall and Typhoon Texas. The fireworks, by PyroTex, are launched from the east side of the mall near Katy Fort Bend Road.   This display begins at 9:00 p.m. and can be viewed from several miles around the area.  For more information about the VIP event at Typhoon Texas please contact the Parks and Recreation Department at 281-391-4840.
