Azalea Trial

The 83rd Azalea Trail heralds the beginning of Spring! Blooms of Spring will be in full swing on March 2, 3 and 4, 2018. The Trail kicks off with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Lazy Lane entrance of Bayou Bend on Friday, March 2nd at 10:30 a.m. This year, a ticket to the Trail gives admission to 6 locations within the River Oaks neighborhood, including 4 private homes and gardens, Bayou Bend and Rienzi. A 7th free location, also in River Oaks, is the River Oaks Garden Club Forum of Civics where free advice from “Ask the Experts” can be enjoyed each day and on Saturday at 2:00 p.m, there will be a floral demonstration with easy to repeat floral tips from one of our talented Garden Club members! A free trolley will provide easy access to all 6 locations of homes, gardens and house museums.
46th Annual Buffalo Bayou Regatta

Join us for Texas’ largest canoe and kayak race – the 46th Annual Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta on March 10th! Paddlers, ages 12 and up, are encouraged to participate in the 15-mile race along the scenic Buffalo Bayou. Whether you are entering competitively or paddling for pleasure, you won’t want to miss out on this longstanding Houston tradition! Register today!

The Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta is rain or shine. If cancellation does take place due to severe water or weather conditions, all entry fees will support the work of Buffalo Bayou Partnership. Note that there are no refunds given for Buffalo Bayou Partnership Regatta registration fees.

The Houston St. Patrick’s Parade has always been a FREE event. The two-hour parade has historically been one of the largest in the U.S. and each year includes over 100 entries to delight the Irish and Irish-at-heart.

Tour De Houston

Tour de Houston Presented by Apache Corporation is a fundraising bike ride that benefits Houston’s Reforestation Program. The ride will take place Sunday, March 18, 2018. This annual event offers Houstonians and visitors a unique way to view the city with bike routes winding through Houston’s historic neighborhoods, scenic districts and parks. With three ride length options, the Tour de Houston is the perfect event for leisure riders or cycling enthusiasts. In addition, it is a BP MS 150 recommended training ride.
This event begins and ends in Hermann Square at City Hall located at 901 Bagby. Riders and volunteers will enjoy a post-ride party that includes live music, free food and beverages.
Bayou City Art Festival

As the nation’s premier outdoor fine art event, Bayou City Art Festival Memorial Park will provide guests with the opportunity to personally meet artists, view original works, and purchase world class art. The three-day festival will feature music, local food vendors, beverages, entertainment, a Children’s Creative Zone and much more.
Celebrating 47 years since the founding of the Westheimer Art Festival, now known as Bayou City Art Festival, ACA has raised more than $3.5 million for local non-profits and provided a venue for over 20,000 artists to showcase their work to thousands of art lovers from all over the world. Every year, a new jury selects participating artists, some new and some returning, which helps create a fresh and different festival year after year.

The 11th annual Houston Holi: FESTIVAL OF COLORS 2018 is the largest HOLI celebration in the USA attracting over 15,000 revelers each year. It will be held on Saturday March 24, 12 – 5pm at the Houston Farm & Ranch, a sprawling natural indoor/outdoor park near I-10 & Hwy 6.
The 11th annual Houston Holi: Festival of Colors is the largest Holi celebration in the USA attracting over 15,000 revelers each year. Highlights include all day Color Throwing, Music Festival with Live Singers, Dace Party with DJs spinning Bollywood & EDM, Cultural Performances, Free Carnival Rides, and Ceremonial Holi Bonfire lighting.
The festival will be teaming with Indian merchandise and a delicious Indian street food festival. This is a family friendly event and Everyone is Welcome. Please wear white clothing that you’re not afraid to get colored. The herbal color powder is skin-safe and will be available at the festival for a nominal cost. There is a color free zone where the sponsor and food booths are located. The Kids Rides & Carnival area is also a color free zone. Houston Holi is organized by Masala Radio & supporting non-profit community organizations are Gujarati Samaj of Houston, India Culture Center and Hindus of Greater Houston.
