Via Colori Street Festival

Via Colori features more than 200 local, national and international artists that create impressive chalk murals on the streets of downtown Houston. The only festival of its kind in Houston, also features three stages of live music, Via Bambini family zone, food and beverage vendors over the two-day event.

Via Colori raises more than $400,000 annually to fund health and educational services for children with hearing loss in Houston through The Center for Hearing and Speech and its renowned audiologists, teachers and speech-language pathologists.

Thanksgiving Day Parade

Join us Thanksgiving morning, November 22, 2018, at 9:00 a.m., for the H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Parade is located in downtown Houston and is FREE for all. For those who would like to purchase general seating, there is an opportunity to do so on this page that will post November 2018.

The Houston Thanksgiving Day Parade began in 1949, when Santa arrived at Union Station and rode his sleigh to the downtown Foley’s. Since then, the Thanksgiving Day parade has gone through a few changes but today, it remains a 69-year-old holiday tradition showcasing the Houston community and entertaining parade-goers lining the streets on Thanksgiving morning. Join us again this year as we embrace the holiday spirit on Thursday, November 22, 2018 with the 69th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade.

The 69th Annual H-E-B Thanksgiving Day Parade is produced by the Mayor’s Office of Special Events, Susan Christian, Director and Parade Producer.

Frostival

The winter season kicks off on November 16, 2018 with Frostival a fun-filled night celebrating the opening of The ICE at Discovery Green!

Enjoy live music, live ICE battles with Reverend Butter, interactive ice sculptures, tunes from DJ Caps and more!

Make a contribution to Discovery Green Conservancy, and you will receive a hand carved stein made of ice at the beer garden and Saint Arnold Brewing Company will fill it with root beer or a great locally crafted beer! A limited number will be available on the day of the event.
