Autumn is here, what a lovely time of year! There are many family friendly events taking place this month including a vendor event we’re having on the 20th. Make some time this month to get out and enjoy the Renaissance Festival while it’s here. Here are some other family friendly events in Houston this October.

Myths and Legends of the Graveyard
When: October 1st – November 2nd | 10am – 5pm
Where: 415 Barren Springs Drive

Myths and Legends of the Graveyard is an interactive exhibit taking museum-goers back centuries when symbolism was the language for the dead to speak from beyond. Guests will discover the history and art of tombstone iconography, explore grave rubbing techniques, delight over a variety of ghost stories and haunted tales and more.

Bonnie and Clyde at TUTS Underground
When: October 1 – 11, 2015

Texas Renaissance Festival
When: October 10th through November 29th
Where: 21778 FM 1774. Todd Mission, TX
The Texas Renaissance is the nation’s largest, most acclaimed Renaissance themed park. Each year, over 500,000 guests pass through the Festival’s gates and enter the magic of New Market Village, an authentically recreated 55 acre 16th century English township located 50 miles northwest of Houston, Texas.

Wings Over Houston Airshow
When: October 17 – 18, 2015
Where: Ellington Airport, Houston, TX
The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the Breitling Jet Team headline this year’s Commemorative Air Force (CAF) 31st Annual Wings Over Houston Airshow, which will be held Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 17-18, at Ellington Airport. The Thunderbirds, performing as a team of six F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft, return to Houston following their last Wings Over Houston performance in 2010. The Breitling Jet Team from Europe, the world’s largest professional civilian flight team that performs in seven L-39C Albatros jet aircraft, will end their first U.S. tour with this first-time performance at Wings Over Houston.

Texian Market Days

Where: George Ranch Historical Park in Richmond, Texas
Light the fire and sound the cannons! The 32nd annual Texian Market Days festival is set for Saturday, October 24, 2015 at the George Ranch Historical Park in Richmond, Texas. Discover more than 150 years of Texas history with hands-on activities, battle re-enactments, music and entertainment, historic home tours, cowboys, food, artisan vendors and more!

ArBOOretum

Happy Halloween! At ArBOOretum all the little goblins and ghouls and their parents are invited to play, learn, and have an enchanting day enjoying Halloween festivities at the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center. Kids will love the Trick or Treat Trail where they learn about native creatures while walking one of our nature paths.
