As a premier custom home builder in the Houston, Texas area, our team at Morning Star Builders makes it a priority to build our clients the home of their dreams. With the rise of smart homes and ever-changing technology, we need to stay up to date on what’s happening in the world of connected technology. That’s why we make an effort to learn as much as we can about the technology that makes smart homes better.

To do that, we attend events like the 2018 CEDIA Expo, which was held in September at the San Deigo Convention Center. If you’re not familiar with what CEDIA Expo is, it’s an annual convention held at different locations throughout the United States each year. CEDIA stands for Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association and the expo offers access to new products, breakthrough innovations, and training in technology integration to those in the housing and technology industries.

This year’s expo featured over 500 exhibitors, so there was a lot to see and learn about. Over the course of the event, we enjoyed presentions from technology companies like DISH Network and Streamlabs in the TechBites series, took part in several of the educational classes, and learned more about the technology taking smart homes to the next level.

One of our favorite parts of CEDIA Expo was the TechTalks, where technology experts talked about the impact of technology on architecture and design. With courses, training from manufacturers, and presentions from keynote speakers, we came away with more knowledge and ideas to better serve our clients.
