One of the best parts about building custom homes is creating partnerships with our trade partners. By developing these partnerships with brands we trust, we’re not only able to provide our clients with a beautifully designed home, but one that features the best materials. Marvin Windows and Doors is one of those partners.

As a family-owned and operated company, Marvin Windows and Doors holds the same philosophy as our team does–never compromise on quality. They take pride in upholding the timeless values of craftsmanship, innovation, and integrity and create high-quality products that are functional, beautiful, and energy efficient.

Last fall members of our team were invited to take a tour of the Marvin Windows and Doors plant. So, Ted and Yvonne headed to the upper Midwest to learn more about the Marvin Family of Brands, which is composed of four unique brands: Marvin, Integrity, Infinity, and TruStile.

The Marvin Visitor and Training Center is located just south of the Canadian border in a small Minnesota city called Warroad. At the Visitor and Training Center, Ted and Yvonne got the inside scoop about why founder, George G. Marvin, choose to settle his family and business in northern Minnesota in 1904. Before taking a tour of the showroom, they learned more about the history of the company, including:

  • The first equipment purchased for making window and door frames
  • Hearing stories from the very first salesmen who traveled the U.S. selling Marvin products
  • The progression of delivery truck designs and how their delivery process has changed since the 1950s
  • An inside look at the 1961 fire that destroyed the first Marvin factory
  • The Marvin Way gallery, which showcases Marvin patents, testing practices, suppliers, and manufacturing methods

You can see the quality of Marvin Windows and Doors in every project they are a part of. One of our favorite homes utilizing their products was our featured home, Water’s Edge at Towne Lake. Located in Cypress, Texas, Towne Lake is Houston’s largest recreational lake so it was important that we optimize the lake views of this million dollar home. To do that, we used energy-efficient Marvin windows and sliding patio doors to offer breathtaking views of the lake and create an easy transition from indoor to outdoor living.
