Houston Small Business Expo

Texas Technology Summit

Mardi Gras Galveston
When: Now through February 9th
Where: Downtown Galveston

At Mardi Gras! Galveston, the extravagance found in Texas’ largest Mardi Gras celebration starts with the beads! More than 3 million beads will be thrown at Mardi Gras! Galveston and that’s just the beginning of the elaborate parades, headliner performances, family events, feasting and other festivities that come with hosting Mardi Gras island style.

Houston RV Show
When: February 10th – 14th | Noon – 8pm
Where: NRG Center

The Houston RV Show is now the largest in Texas with over 600 units on display. This includes Motorhomes, Travel Trailers, Tent Campers, Fifth Wheels, and Van Conversions. Recreational Vehicle related vendors representing campgrounds, resorts, parks and RV supplies. The 52nd Annual Houston RV Show will be in the NRG Center Halls C,D,E.

BCO Valentine’s Farmers Market Bike Ride
When: Saturday, February 13th | 8:30am – 12pm
Where: Onion Creek
306 White Oad Drive, Houston, TX

This is a very social ride, all levels of riders and all types of sweeties are welcome. Start the morning off with a leisurely coffee at Onion Creek and then cruise to the best market in town to shop for fresh produce, sauces, jams, and bread. This is a 12-15 mile ride that lasts about three hours so bring plenty of water and a backpack to carry your goodies!  Helmets ARE required.  If you don’t have a helmet come anyway, there are plenty of loaner helmets for everyone.

Texas Lunar Festival
When: Saturday, February 13th | 10am – 5pm

For the past 19 years, community leaders and volunteers have worked hard to promote the remarkable diversity and impressive leadership of the greater Asian community while fostering friendship among nearly every culture. Curious George 75th Anniversary
When: Saturday, February 13th | 10am – 5pm
Where: Children’s Museum of Houston

It’s been 75 years since readers first went ape over “Curious George.”  But did you know World War II threw a monkey wrench into publishing plans?  Written and drawn by Hans Augusto Rey and Margret Rey, the couple fled Paris in June 1940 on self-made bicycles carrying the “Curious George” manuscript with them.  After escaping, the rest became history!  Take a historical journey and visit with Curious George as he swings by the Children’s Museum of Houston just in time for his 75th anniversary.  Don’t forget your camera!

38th Annual Corvette Chevy Expo
When: February 27th – 28th  | 10am – 6pm
Where: Galveston Island Convention Center
5600 Seawall Blvd, Galveston TX

The Corvette Chevy Expo features World Class Chevrolet Show Cars and Chevy Show Trucks. The Swap meet is full of Major National Vendors. There are cars for Sale in the Cars Sales mart. On Saturday, Costume Characters entertain the Children. Sunday, Vette Vues Magazine conducts a photo Shoot for their centerfold and at 3:00 PM Swimsuit USA International hosts the Miss Corvette Chevy Expo Bikini Contest. Come and enjoy Texas’ finest automotive event dedicated to the Chevrolet models.

World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest
When: February 25th – 27th
Where: NRG Park

You won’t want to miss the biggest pre-party to the world’s largest livestock show and rodeo. More than 250 teams led by barbecue aficionados will compete in a traditional Texas cook-off.  While most team tents are invitation-only, visitors can enjoy the public venues including the Miller Lite Garden, Rockin’ Bar-B-Que Saloon and the Chuck Wagon, where you receive a complimentary chopped beef sandwich plate.  Come enjoy three days of cooking, competition, eating and dancing!

Houston’s Kosher Chili Cookoff
When: Sunday, February 28th | Noon to 4pm
Where: Evelyn Rubenstein Jewish Community Center of Houston

The Houston Kosher Chili Cook-off is now the largest kosher food event in Houston. The 6th Houston Kosher Chili Cook-off will be held on Sunday, February 28th, 2016 at the ERJCC. There will be MORE cooking teams, MORE food, MORE money raised for local charities, and MORE fun! At 12:00pm, the public is invited to sample chili, mingle, enjoy children’s activities, listen to music, and simply have a great time in an outdoor, festival atmosphere. The event will conclude with the selection of the winning chili by celebrity judges. So don’t miss this “hot” event!
