June is here and that means summer vacation for the kids, laid back afternoons and weekends and time spent with friends in the backyard around the BBQ. There are several family friendly events taking place this month, as well as a grand opening of our newest home in Towne Lake – a great place to live and spend time with friends – and they are listed below.
Houston has been hit extraordinarily hard by the Memorial Day weekend floods, leaving dozens of people dead and missing and even more people without homes. While many organizations are stepping up to help there is much help that is needed and that is where you come in. You can help the victims of the Houston floods by donating your time and money to the Texas Search and Rescue, the Salvation Army of Texas and the United Way of Greater Austin. You can also donate time, money and blood to the Red Cross.

BCO Farmer’s Market Bike Ride
Where: Onion Creek
When: June 13th, 2015
Life in H-town is constantly evolving, in a large part thanks to our local Farmers Markets. Did you know many of our local restaurateurs shop at the Farmers Markets each week for handcrafted cheeses, local produce, baked goods and locally sourced organic meats? The job is to pedal fast enough to beat them to the market but slow enough to enjoy the ride. This is a very social ride and all levels of riders are welcome. Start the morning off with a leisurely coffee at Onion Creek and then cruise through 2-3 markets to shop for fresh produce, sauces, jams, and bread. This is a 12-15 mile ride that lasts about three hours so bring plenty of water and a backpack to carry your goodies!
